Welcome to my tribute to DM site. This is just a scratch of my true devotion to the band. Hope you enjoy. As I expand the site I will add some history behind the recordings and maybe some photos. Disclaimer:
These recordings are by no means professional. It is myself and/or friends having fun. If you were expecting something better, sorry. ;-)
NEW -- Everything Counts 2005 - MLJ Cover
This
is the second in hopefully many to come. :-)
NEW -- World In My Eyes 2005 - MLJ Cover
It's been a long time since I have recorded a DM cover. I recorded this using Reason 3 for all the music and sequencing. I recorded the vocals using Acid 4 then adding them to reason. Inspired by a thread on DMMB about the lead sound, I found it fun to redo the whole song.
I Want You Now - dancemix - MLJ 1990
History - I recorded this before beatmapping. I used a Roland S50 to sequence the drums and samples, and just played it along with the cd. This is taken from an old cassette tape recorded in 1990.
World In My Eyes - MLJ - 1990
History - I sequenced this with an Roland S50. I sampled all the unique DM sounds from the WIME single cd. I got everything I could off of that. Due to lack of memory I had to play the melody line live while recording. My buddy Conrad sang and I did the backups. Not super impressive, but it was fun.
World In My Eyes Instrumental- MLJ - 1990
History - Same as above with no vox
But Not Tonight (Live recording from 12-16-88)
History - In high school we had a band that played DM covers. We dressed like them and "tried" to play like them. We had such hokey gear and a drummer for lack of a drum machine (how ironic), but with what we had we pulled off alot. We played half a dozen parties or so between 88-89. I think this was recorded by setting a tape deck out in the crowd. 4 shows still survive on cassette. We did songs like Ice Machine, Stripped, Somebody, Everything Counts (complete with melodica), Just Can't Get Enough and many others.
